EP23 - Troy Gagliardo

From being a seasoned chef, restauranteur, cookbook author, and television cooking host, Chef Troy Gagliardo now sits on the other side of the industry counter. After a long career working in the kitchen, Troy finds himself in a place he never imagined, as a spice vendor. A long-time vendor presented the opportunity to Chef to buy the majority stake in his company as he was looking to retire, and the rest, as they say, was history.

The secret to Chef Troy's success in his second/third act is using his experience and knowledge in the kitchen to better serve his customers and their needs. It is more than just selling as many goods as possible to jack up invoices and increase profits—it's about going above and beyond by ensuring Motown Spice & Provisions customers always have fresh ingredients when they need them.

To know Troy is to have a friend who greets you with an authentic smile and is genuinely excited to see you. His journey reflects his character from a well-respected chef in the community to Charlotte's spice guy.
